Yes, using these charts you may qualify for free or reduced pricing.  Click the financial assistance button →  fill out the information → if you qualify a coupon code will be sent to you and then you can register using the steps listed in the question above. 

For those who qualify, financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to ONE class per child. Please complete the Financial Assistance application by FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 2026.

We typically close registration for each class at 12 a.m on the Friday preceding the courses starting on Monday.  If you experience that a course is closed on Friday and you wish to register your child still for Monday, call the office to see if spots remain 269-337-0004

The main office is staffed from 8 am to 3:30 pm Mon - Friday.  If you need to get a hold of someone after 3:30, contact Susan Fisher at (269) 337-0031

Generally our summer classes are designed to provide fun exploration of general concepts for students of average ability, in the grade-levels indicated. Prerequisites are noted in the class descriptions. Exceptions may be made by Sizzlin’ Summer staff.

This year our first and second graders will be using El Sol Elementary for their classes.  Students in classes numbered 10 through 19 should be dropped off on Oak Street; our classroom’s door is to the right of the main entrance and will have KAMSC signage. This is also the 4:00 pickup zone for all age students in afternoon supervision, which will also be at El Sol. 

Classes numbered 20 and higher will be held at the Kalamazoo  Area Mathematics and Science Center located on the 4th floor of the  CEC building. You may know this as the “old” Central High School or  the Chenery Auditorium building. The CEC building address is 714 S.  Westnedge Ave. Please drop older students at the Dutton St. entrance.

El Sol shares a parking lot with the CEC, parents with  younger children will be emailed instructions for drop-off.

The registration form allows you to indicate if your child has medical needs. Please inform us of any situation that may require medication  during the day or that may place limits on outdoor activity, exertion, etc.  Please complete the medical form found online at www.kamsc.org and submit it with your registration. You may also pick up the medical form at  the KAMSC office. 

1.  Classes that have fewer than 5 students may be cancelled by the Monday  before the class begins. We will notify registrants if a class is canceled;  you will be able to choose another course to go into or to get a refund.
2. If  it is necessary for you to drop a class, we would appreciate prior notice;  the seat could be filled by another student. Please note our refund policy.  How do refunds work?

• Students who remain at KAMSC Sizzlin’ Summer during lunch time are expected to stay in the “noon area” while eating and will be supervised at no cost. Students with classes at El Sol will have their supervised lunch period at El Sol.
• P.M. Supervision will be provided for students remaining after “C”  classes (until 4:00 PM only). Students will be escorted to El Sol for PM supervision and can be picked up on Oak St.

Supervision is charged per week; there are no daily rates.  Late pickups will be billed at $5.00 per 1/2 hour.

1.  Beginning 15 minutes before each class period, staff from each classroom  will be at the Dutton Street doors (up until class start time) to gather  their students and take them upstairs as a group.  They will have a sign with the course name on it.  Be sure your child and whoever is dropping off knows what class they are headed to.
2. Exception: Students arriving late for class may be brought upstairs (4th floor) by a parent/guardian.  When at the top of the stairs, push the button to call the office for someone to open the door and instruct you where to go.
3. At the end of class, all students are walked down to the Dutton Street  doors, unless they have another class or P.M. Supervision. All students  must be picked up at the Dutton Street doors within 15 minutes of their  last class of the day.  All parents picking up must sign their student out and may be asked to see i.d.

If you plan to park and leave your vehicle, please park in the parking lot off Dutton Street. There is NO PARKING in the Vine Street parking lot across from KAMSC; that is a private parking lot and you will be towed.  In addition, there is no street parking allowed on Vine Street; this is for  school vehicles only; both areas are closely monitored. Thank you for  your cooperation.  

• Students are to be dropped off and picked up at the Dutton  Street for classes 20 and higher and Oak Street for El Sol classes 10 - 19 ONLY. Building access and supervision are not  supplied at any other entrance of the building. 

• Please do not use the west end building entrance off Vine Street; this  is an employee entrance only and is a high vehicle traffic area which can  be quite dangerous for children.
• All children MUST be supervised from the parent’s vehicle to the door of your drop off building.  This means parents MUST leave their vehicle and walk their children to the door.  There is a lot of traffic at drop off/pick up time and no child should be unattended.  Our staff will greet you at the door.

Yes, all registered children will receive a t-shirt.  You will note their size in the registration process and the child shall receive their shirt sometime during their first week of camp.
